Dewi Donates Her Toll Booth Earnings to Indonesian Women in Games

Tangerang, December 22, 2025 – More than a month has passed since the release of 1998: The Toll Keeper Story (hereinafter referred to as 1998) on October 28, 2025, and Dewi, the toll keeper, is finally able to share a portion of her earnings with the Indonesian Women in Games (IWIG) community. In accordance with GameChanger Studio's commitment, 20% of the proceeds from the first month of Artbook sales are being donated to IWIG as a form of support for female game developers in Indonesia.

The total donation presented to IWIG amounts to IDR 5.199.800,-

It is hoped that this donation will be utilized by IWIG to support operational costs as well as skill and knowledge development programs for women working within the game industry. A 2024 survey* conducted by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) revealed that 32% of female game developers possess no prior game-related experience. Additional data highlights the critical importance of professional development tailored to workplace needs.

Riris Marpaung, Game Director of 1998 and IWIG Chairwoman for 2023-2025, understands that IWIG still requires significant support from various parties to become a comfortable and dynamic 'home' for its members. Together with Dewi, the toll keeper, and all Indonesian women on this Indonesian Mother's Day celebration, Riris hopes to see more women game developers producing works that are inspiring and hold strong values.

The following is a statement from Musthika Dwitiya Laksmiwati, the Chairwoman of IWIG for the 2025–2028 term and COO of Ikan Asin Production:
“As the Chairperson of IWIG for the 2025–2028 term, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Mrs. Riris Marpaung for her unwavering support of IWIG. Our goal moving forward is to ensure that IWIG becomes more widely recognized and even more capable of empowering women in building the gaming ecosystem. This includes supporting professionals at every stage of their careers as well as beginners who need guidance to go from zero to hero!”
